Firewood and logs
Over the last few years Leaton Forest has been producing and selling good-quality, ethically-sourced and managed wood fuel from the woodlands on the Leaton Knolls Estate. The wood is air dried, which is a slower but more energy efficient way to dry wood. The lower moisture content allows the logs to burn better and produce more heat.
Our firewood is delivered in reusable bags and our smaller netted bags can be recycled and used again. When you buy from us, you’ll get a mix of soft/hard or hard wood. Log baskets and Swedish fire logs are also available. View the range
Carbon-lean?
When we say we're carbon-lean, it means each tree absorbs the same amount of carbon dioxide when growing as it releases when burned.
Our woodland is managed in a sustainable manner. New tree growth will be absorbing atmospheric carbon dioxide, offsetting that released by the woodfuel. The overall contribution to atmospheric CO2 levels is minimal.
Cleaner chimney
Our dry wood has been properly sourced and seasoned. It produces fewer particulates, more heat efficiency and less maintenance – chimneys are less likely to block and will remain easier to sweep.
Choosing your logs
All of our logs are stacked naturally for three to four years in the wind but sheltered by the rain by the canopies of the trees. They are then stored in a barn for up to 18 months. All timber is tested for moisture content and will only be sent out if has reached the desirable moisture content level.
